Southwick Soccer Club
Southwick Soccer is a club under the Southwick Rec Center, which is the non-profit organization for all youth soccer in Southwick. It includes programs for competitive travel soccer under Southwick Soccer Club, as well as Recreation Soccer for boys and girls of all ages.
Mission
The mission of Southwick Soccer is to provide the opportunity for soccer training and play for all interested participants designed to develop individual skills, fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship, to support the physical, mental and emotional development of youth players, and to promote, foster and perpetuate the growth of soccer in our community.
Travel Soccer
The Southwick Travel soccer program is a way for kids to play against other local towns. You will get a chance to play against top level competition from other towns.
- At the younger ages (U8 through U10) there are no playoffs and scores are not even kept. This is purely about being able to develop kids as top soccer players against top level competition.
- At the older ages (U11 and up) scores are kept and there are playoffs at the different levels. At these ages it does become more competitive but the focus should still be on developing the kids over winning and losing.
With greater competition kids are able to develop at a faster pace. We strive to have teams available in the U8 to U14 age groups for both boys and girls. Of course actual teams are based on the number of registrations that are received within a given age group. The Travel program has teams in both the Spring and Fall seasons.
InTown Soccer
The Southwick InTown soccer program is a recreational level program for kids beginning their soccer adventures. It is a chance for kids to learn the basic fundamentals of the sport and hopefully begin to develop a life long enjoyment of soccer. The InTown program is available for kids 4 years old and older, based on registration numbers within a given age group. The InTown program has a Fall season and Spring clinic sessions.
